NC Baby Shower

My NC Baby Shower was hosted by my mom and sisters.  It was at my parent's house and they did such a great job with all the decorations, food, and activities!

Doctor's Visit

Today I had another doctor's appt.  Again it was pretty standard as the previous ones.  My blood pressure was 112/78 - getting a little higher but still in the normal range.  I weighed in at 129  - gained only two pounds in the last two weeks which surprised me a little.  My iron is still low so I have to keep taking my iron supplements.  I had no sugar in my urine which was great so now I don't have to get more tests done.  I met with N.P. Janice.  She kept saying how great I look for 34 weeks so that made me feel good!  :)  I asked again about the hiccups because the baby gets them so often - sometimes 3-4 times a day.  She said it is perfectly normal and that it's a good thing.  My belly is measuring exactly what it should - 34cm.  She also felt my belly to see if he is still breach and she thinks that he turned and is now in the head down position.  She said we will have a better idea at 36 weeks at my next visit.  He has been moving around a ton lately so I can't really tell where his head is and where his legs are.  I don't like that I can't picture his position in there because I like to visualize where he is so hopefully they can tell me more at my next visit.  I have one more visit in two weeks and then I go every week!!!  That's when the count down begins!

Labor and Delivery Class

This weekend Todd and I had our Labor and Delivery Class at WakeMed.  Because of Todd's tavel schedule, we choose to do the weekend class instead of one night a week for 5 weeks.  It took up most of the weekend - 9am-4pm on Saturday & 9am-1pm on Sunday.  We thought the class was very informative and I got a lot of my questions answered.  There were 8 couples total in the class and it was nice to hear from other couples who are at the same stage in their pregnancies as us.  We learned all about the process of labor - what happens before, during, and after.  We also went over breathing techniques and different ways to get through the contractions.  We got a tour of the maternity floor which was very helpful.  We got to see the delivery room, nursery, waiting room, and we went over the process of having visitors.  The tour was my favorite part and it made me really excited for the big day!  Of course I'm getting a little nervous but I just can't wait to meet our baby!

Happy 35th Anniversary!

We celebrated my parents anniversay at Shuckers.

Oriental, NC

On Saturday, Todd and I went to Oriental, NC for a work event.  Oriental is an old inner coastal village known for fishing & sailing - it's very close to New Bern.  We go there about 4 times a year to visit one of his top producers and we stay at these cottages to make a weekend out of it.

More Ultrasound pictures!

After my doctor's appt. on Friday we had our 2nd ultrasound at Triangle Imaging.  It was great to see the baby again.  He was really active - he kept opening his eyes and he was opening his mouth a lot!  The doctor kept saying how big he is and how much he grew in the last two weeks. He is still breach and it's getting more cramped in there so the chances of him moving to the head down position is getting smaller.  We'll see what happens in the next 4 weeks!  Here are some more pictures!

Doctor's Visit

Yesterday I had another doctor's appt.  I met with N.P. Blanchard - she was really nice. The last few appts have been pretty uneventful.  My blood pressure was 116/68, weight was 128, and my belly measured 32 cm - all in normal range.  There was a little sugar in my urine.  She said that she is not worried yet but if I continue to get that then I will have to get more testing done.  The baby's heartbeat was 140 bpm.  He has been getting the hiccups a lot (about once a day, sometimes twice!) so I asked the doctor about that.  She said it is normal and it just means he is growing.  I wasn't too worried just thought I would bring it up.  He is still breach but has time to move.  They aren't too concerned about the baby's position until around 36 weeks.  That's about it - everything went well.

Christine's Birthday

On Friday we celebrated Christine's 21st Birthday.  We started out at the Red Room for some Tapas, then went over to Bogarts for martinis, and ended the night at Solas.  We all had a fun night and everyone was on the dance floor by the end of the night!

Christine and I at Solas - Christine's enjoying a sangria and I'm enjoying a mocktail - which the bartender made for me so I wouldn't feel left out! :)

After the shower, Todd and I went to a red sox game with a bunch of Todd's friends.  His friend Nez works at Fenway and he was able to get us a suite!  It was awesome - I can't wait to tell the baby all about his very first visit to Fenway Park to see the Redsox!

The suite was amazing.  It was filled with food & drinks and we had our own bathroom!

For the 4th we went to Matt's house for BBQ. Here is Matt the Grill Master!
