My water broke at 3am Friday morning! It wasn't a gush of fluid so I wasn't sure at first if it was my water breaking. I had a doctor's appt. already scheduled for 10:30 that morning so I decided to wait and get checked out there. Sure enough my water did brake and the doctor told me to head to hospital around 2pm and that I was going to have my baby today! I had ceral just before my appt. so I had to wait a little wait before I could have the c-section. I went home and Todd and I packed up the rest of our stuff and headed to the hospital. We got there at 2:pm and I was already having contractions. They were 7 mins apart on the way there. Once I got there my contractions started getting worse and were 2mins apart. Dr. Bernstein was the delivering doctor and he was able to speed things up a bit because of my conrtractions. I didn't think I would experience contraction but boy was I wrong. It was a lot more painful then I ever thought! At 4:45pm I was in the operating room getting my spinal tap. I was very nervous at this point. Lucky me I had a contraction right as the needle was going in and I couldn't move. After a few seconds I couldn't feel anything and Todd was right beside me. The c-section went very well and the doctors took good care of me and talked me through the whole procedure!

Girls' Night
Once a month Dana, Christine and I get together for dinner to catch up on everything that's going on in our lives. It's always nice to spend time together and hear what everyone's been up to. We talk plenty of other times throughout the month but it's nice to get all three of us together at once. We met up for dinner on Tuesday and we had a lot to talk about with my c-section so close. Dana gave me a lot of good advice and it was fun to share the excitement with them on the arrival of baby Nelson!

More Belly Photos
I got the rest of my belly photos! She took 200 pictures so it was hard for me to narrow it down but here are my favorites.
My Bags are Packed!
This past weekend Todd and I packed our bags for the hospital. We decided to take one bigger bag for both of us instead of two seperate ones. I packed what I could and I made a list of everything that I will need that I couldn't pack right away like my slippers and my comfy pants because I will be wearing them this week. We are taking another small bag for all the electronic stuff - camera, video camera, ipod, laptop, and all the chargers. We are also going to bring some food since we will be at the hospital for 3-4 nights. I am not a fan of hospital food so we are going to bring granola bars, bagels, muffins, and snacks. We also made a list of all the food places close to the hospital so my parents can bring us food (Boston Market) for dinner! We are all set and ready to go!

Newborn Basics Class
Last Thursday Todd and I went to a newborn basics class. It was a class on how to take care of a newborn the first few days after they are born. We had dolls to practice on which made it easy to learn and to be hands on instead of just watching a video. We had fun and learned a lot.

Last Day of Work!
Yesterday was my last day at work! They got me cake and had a little goodbye party for me. It was sad to leave but I am so glad that I have two weeks to relax and enjoy this time before the baby comes.
Ultrasound & Doctor's Visit
On Wednesday I met with Dr. Wheeler. My blood pressure was 112/66 and my weight was 133. I am still 1 cm dilated so no change there but I am 75% effaced. I also had an ultrasound. It's a good thing I pushed for an ultrasound because he is still breech! The last thing I wanted was to go into labor and then find out 13 hours later that he is breech. I am very happy that we at least know for sure now. They talked a little bit about trying to turn him but he weighs around 5lb 12oz and because I am 75% effaced the chances of him turning are low. She also said that I would have to go to the hospital to turn him and that it could cause stress on the baby and possibly result in an emergency c-section. We decided to go with the c-section and not try to turn him. The date is set for Thursday, Sept. 2nd - unless I go earlier!

Busy Weekend!
This past weekend Todd and I got a lot of stuff done that we wanted to finalize before the baby arrives. We installed the car seat, went to a baptism class, set up the baby monitor, finished the baby's room, Todd cleaned out the garage, stocked his beer frig, and bought a new camera. (my push present!) I also finished all my thank you cards! :) My parents came over to help us with a few things also. My dad helped Todd install a fan in the baby's room and my mom and I organized some clothes in the baby's closet. And Todd made his Nana's meatballs and gravy as a thank you to them!

Doctor's Visit
On Thursday I had another doctor's appt. I now go every week until the baby is born. My blood pressure was 124/76, and weight was 132 (so far I have gained 33 pounds!). My belly is still measuring what it should - 36cm. We listened to the baby's heartbeat which was normal as well - 145bpm. I met with Dr. Bass - one of the more experienced doctor's there. He was great - I really liked him! I was really concerned about the baby's position and I was worried that the dr. would just assume the baby was head down. He felt my belly and said he thought the baby was head down but just to be sure he ordered me an ultrasound. I was very happy because now we will know for sure. My ultrasound is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 18th. Also, I am already 1 cm dilated so he thinks I may go early!!!
36 Weeks!
4 Weeks to go!!!
So far I have loved being pregnant! I have been feeling great and have not had any problems yet. I am still able to sleep through the night and for the most part I haven't been feeling uncomfortable. I still feel him move a lot throughout the day but I feel bigger movements more and not as may kicks. I try to avoid bending over to pick things up as much as possible and it's getting harder to do everyday things like puting pants on and washing dishes (my belly gets in the way). I notice that I get tired faster when I go for walks and after work I need to relax and lay down for a while. I can't believe it's almost over. I couldn't wait for August to come and now I want time to slow down so I can enjoy this feeling and anticipation for what's to come! The best has yet to come and Todd and I are both counting the days until we meet our son for the first time!

Belly Photos!
On Sunday we had a photographer come over to our house to take photos of the belly. She just sent me an email with a preview of a few pictures and they came out great. I LOVE them! Here are just a few - we took over 100 pictures so I can't wait to see the rest!
