I had a another quick appt. with Dr. Bass. Weight 122.8, bp 100/64, baby's heartbeat 155, and i'm measuring 28 cm. Everything looked good.
I got the results back from my glucose test and two of my numbers were high. My results were:
Mine Normal
87 < 95
207 < 180
160 < 155
127 < 140
The second two numbers were not in normal range which means I have gestational diabetes. Dr. Bass didn't seem too worried about it. About 10% of women get this during pregnancy and it should go away right after the baby is born. It's common enough that all women are tested for it during their prenancy around 26-29 weeks. Dr. Bass said the goal is to control it with my diet and the only concern is the size of the baby - getting too big. I will have to check my blood sugar level 4 times a day to make sure i am in normal range. I met with a dietician and she showed me how to check my blood sugar and she went over the foods that i should stay away from. Overall, it's not too much of a concern. It is more of an annoyance that i can't eat what i want and having to check my blood sugar 4 times a day but it's only for 2 months.
Here is my 1st week for blood sugar levels. I have to do this every week and show it to my doctor at every appt.
